Squirmy Worms. Maybe the most controversial fly in your box, but dang it, when all else fails, they almost always deliver. Love or hate them, they have their place along your eggs and mops in your junk food box. Trout, panfish, & bass will all happily pick these up.
Tied using a quality silicon body with a 3.3mm tungsten bead to get down, these are best served on a competition style. #12 or #14 jig hook.
While not a “classic” squirmy pattern, Jerry’s Corn Worm was a bit of a accidental pattern from the toy aisle at the pharmacy. Yellow is a key color here in WNC and we absolutely wore stockers out on this pattern in the spring. He kept catching fish on it after the tail was bitten off and I told him he may as well be chucking some Green Giant Nibblets- but the fish kept coming. Sadly, they toy has now given its all in supply, so O can now offer the Corn Worm 2.0.
