A classic nymph pattern from Dave Whitlock using his color blend synthetic dubbing.. I added a a touch more spun spiky squirrel dubbing to the thorax for that extra buggy look but stayed true to the excellent contrasting color of the original. It’s from a versatility standpoint and lends itself to lots of different customizations. It can imitate a mayfly, cased caddis or a stone. This also is a boss in a #8 fished in a pair on the swing. I tie these is a weighted or unweighted version so you can hug the bottom or drift it a little higher in the column. Feel free to add a bead, soft hackle or rubber legs at no extra charge, just leave a note in the order and I’m happy to accommodate your specs.
