I enjoy turning over rocks all year long to see just what food is available, and hopefully gain a little insight to what the fish are calling groceries. This one comes out of finding these larvae more often than not in our WNC waters. This pattern has fished exceptionally well over the last couple years in both colors. I like to drift them through a run in a pair on a double nymph rig. It’s a great dropper in a #18, or a big ole grub pattern in the larger sizes.
