This has been a really productive pattern as a dropper off a dry. That was its original inception. Tungsten bead gives it enough weight to stay down without becoming a boat anchor. I tie these on a barbless nymph hook with a matte black bead and spiky dubbing collar with and CDL tailing to represent a trailing shuck.
You can fish this with equal results as a tight line or Euro Fly.
